Good luck to Blazer and Heat fans, no matter how this all turns out.

Portland: we don’t want Herro since he’s a shooting guard at 6’5 even though he’s a potent offensive player who hasn’t reached his prime and has all star potential.

But we’ll match Thybulle’s contract who is 6’5 and is a massive offensive liability especially in todays game

It's looking more and more like we get Lillard and for a lot less than our max package. Dame's determination to get here has been effective at scaring off other teams. It's gotten to the point where even Woj (the only reporter getting his information from Portland's front office and relaying it on their behalf) is saying that Portland might have to accept that Miami's offer is the best on the table.

My prediction for the package : Heat get their pick unlocked from OKC and send Herro, Duncan and 3 1sts out.

In an effort to steer Damian Lillard to the Heat, agent Aaron Goodwin has been contacting other teams and warning them not to pursue a trade with the Trail Blazers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi. Several executives around the league told Wojnarowski that Goodwin is claiming Lillard won’t be happy if he gets dealt anywhere but Miami.

General managers have insisted to Woj that the tactic is fairly common and won’t impact their interest in a potential Lillard deal. He remains under contract, and the opinion throughout the league is that he’ll play equally well no matter where he winds up.

The four-year, $176MM supermax extension that Lillard received last summer makes it more difficult for Portland to find value in return for its star guard, Wojnarowski adds. Although Lillard is under contract through 2026/27, his salary for that season will be more than $63MM, which a lot of teams don’t want to take onto their cap.

Some progress toward a Lillard deal could be made this week as executives gather for the Las Vegas Summer League, but Wojnarowski doesn’t expect a quick resolution. He suggests it may take most of the summer for Portland to find an acceptable offer and that Miami’s best chance could be for the process to drag on so long that other teams in the market for Lillard drop out of the bidding.

@WindhorstESPN

said he's heard the Nets would have interest in acquiring Tyler Herro:

“It’s been reported that the Nets would have interest in Herro, and I have heard that as well. They offloaded three contracts in the last few days… They're actually a candidate to make a trade where they bring in more salary than they send out.”

Slowly it’s starting to unfold

Lillard has largely been out of the radar of controversy throughout his career, it will be interesting to see if tarnishing his image won't be part of the play book used against him in this process.

Funny that last weekend, the Blazers were leaking to ESPN every team that called them for a trade and leaking that they weren't interested in Herro and leaking that they wanted Brooklyn involved.

The only leak coming out of the Heat organization is the number of teams that are interested. Any guess about who the five are? I would guess: Brooklyn, Utah, San Antonio, OKC, and Memphis

Ridiculous .

Just heard on ESPN that the Blazers do not have any responsibility to reward Dame for his longterm loyalty to the Blazers and hence, no obligation to trade Dame to his desired destination. However, the same talk heads are the first to demand that a player should perennially renew his contract with the team that drafted him to show his loyalty to the team and fans. Ridiculous arguement to reward the owners' sense of entitlement , imho.

I could be wrong, but my gut says Wood and Saric are waiting out this Dame trade. Warriors said they want to sign Saric and yet he hasn't. There has been zero on Wood. I could see the team letting them know if they don't get blown away by some offer coming to play for a title contender and rebuild your value is a attractive proposition. Be patient and wait it out, guys ;)
