lol. the title of this article should say "guy that never won a title says another guy that never won a title is better than a guy that won multiple titles".
Harden is only better than Wade if you think individual stats in the regular season are more important than a team winning when it matters most. And if you think like that, then I guess you're right, Harden is better than Wade.
Call me old-fashioned, but I think winning big games and sacrificing for your team and coming through in the clutch are more important than points per game and asking to be traded and folding in the playoffs.
Harden was a great player in his prime. He is still a very good player (although obviously his age is a factor now). But in terms of professionalism and commitment he cannot be compared to players like Wade, Lebron, Curry. I mean, yes his prime iso play was elite, maybe he was the best ever in this regard. He is a better 3 point shooter. But if you compare the whole package, no way you can have Harden over Wade. Wade has 3 rings, he has been a great leader, great defender. Harden never won a championship, his attitude is very questionable. Cmon, this is ridiculous (and I am not saying it because I am a Heat fan).
I don't like to compare and rank players this way, I am not saying Wade is an all time 3rd best. I don't care. But if we compare specifically these two players, their achievements, their legacy it is a no brainer.
Excellent comment. No question that Harden had skills that were on an elite level. There were certainly things he could do better than Wade. But Wade was the better overall player.
Harden is a better 3-point shooter ... period! Harden called Wade a has-been when his time had come; Harden's has-beenism is starting to show. His time is upon him. As for Wade, he didn't perform less with Shaq and Lebron; he took it upon himself to assist them. Wade was never a selfish player. He sure made Lebron look as good as he could ever be. Wade in his prime was The D. Wade ... better than Harden.
I wonder if the Lillard trade happens on, or just after, August 1, when Jaquez becomes trade eligible? Could he be a player Portland thinks can fit now? Assuming a trade of Herro for a first round pick, plus 1 (maybe 2?) additional draft picks, plus Lowry and Duncan?
Thinking out loud here. Bam, Love, Butler, Martin, Lillard. Bench of Bryant, Jovic, Highsmith, Richardson, pg, plus O Robinson, Cain (assuming he’s signed).
I liked this proposal from NBA analysis:
The Trade Proposal
Miami Heat Receive: F/C Bobby Portis, G/F Pat Connaughton, G/F Grayson Allen, 2029 First-Round Pick (MIL) .
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: G Tyler Herro
Use that first rounder with, again, one of ours plus Jaquez, Lowry, and Duncan, and maybe Jovic.
On second thought, it's not impossible they're holding back from saying where negotiations are in order to delay the inevitable media roast sessions as late as possible. Cronin's job might not be as secure as he'd like. No leaks in the past couple days. Either it's poker faces or portland has a good reason not to panic.
As for the trade, I'd love to see portis and connaughton in miami. Throwback to strus and pj days ^^ Not super iconic as eras go but damn, I'm bored out here
Yeah, I’ll just copy and paste my comment from the previous thread on this subject.
Every time I think bias and stupidity can’t get worse, there is this from Jeff Teague:
“D-Wade has Shaq and Bron. He ain’t never really been by himself. When the Miami Heat were by themselves, they were trash. Harden is better, bro. I am sorry,” Teague said
I have no problem with anyone feeling Harden is/was better than Wade (though I don’t agree).
Note to Teague:
Harden had Durant and Westbrook - won nothing.
Harden had Durant and Irving - won nothing.
Harden had Embiid and Maxey (and others) - won nothing.

Jeff Teague and Paul Pierce should do a podcast together. They could call it Dickhead and Butthead. Has a nice ring to it.
What did D Wade ever do to be trashed like this by other players? Both current & former alike?
I just don't understand it.
He was a decent, courteous, hard worker who knew how to play team ball and defend, and he achieved more than his critics. And they’re jealous.
You said it, Jeff. Way out of pocket.
You can't win NBA ring without a team efforts and you need to to be a team player.

Just spit ballin’ as others would say. Too much quiet time right now.
Doubt it, man. Plenty trades in the past got announced well ahead of the day they could be made official

Portis and Connaughton would be great additions.
His thoughts. His opinion. I respect that. But more bb fans, not even counting Heat nation, sees our DWade way ahead of headcase Harden hehe

Wade is a winner. Harden is not.
Harden had Chris Paul and Clint Capella - won nothing (because Chris Paul got hurt)
Plus Harden totally no D. Should only be James Haren bwahaha!
