Lowry said he expects to be the starting PG. Spo said camp and pre-season will determine who is the starter. And off we go!

HEAT GET: JAMES HARDEN AND P.J. TUCKER

76ERS GET: KYLE LOWRY, DUNCAN ROBINSON AND 2027 1ST-ROUND PICK (TOP 8 PROTECTED)

DEPTH CHART

PG – James Harden/Josh Richardson/Dru Smith

SG – Tyler Herro/Jaime Jaquez Jr./R.J. Hampton

SF – Jimmy Butler/Caleb Martin/Jamal Cain

PF – P.J. Tucker/Nikola Jovic/Hayward Highsmith

C – Bam Adebayo/Kevin Love/Thomas Bryant/Orlando Robinson

Note: Harden is on expiring contract so he will likely be on his best behavior in order to obtain the best extension available. Whether or not Miami re-signs him, they would have an all-star caliber player (21.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 10.7 apg, and 38.5 3-pt%) and an opportunity to get out from under both the Lowry and Robinson contracts. Wishful thinking, I know.

It is what it is. The first league game is on October 29th against Detroit. Much can happen between now and then. Spo has to carefully assess what talent he has, how players mesh together and how much flexibility he has with various line-ups and players in various roles. Hopefully, if Herro or Richardson are not able to adequately fill the PG role, Lowry can start and play 15-20 minutes a game until a a full-time replacementment can be acquired. I expect Riley to trade for the best PG he can get within the next 4-6 weeks, hopefully without having to give up Herro. There are several possible candidates out there. How does Robinson and a pick for Brogdon or Rozier sound?

looks like Swider is a keeper. 6'9", gifted shooter, prototypical Bam frontcourt partner. But yeah, we badly need a pg

My question is why the nba are always trolling the heat?

Lowry not speaking to media.Really we dont want to hear from your fat ass.Problem is nobody wants your fat overpaid ass especially the heat. The only team i worry about in the east is milw.As long as Boston has jalen brown not worried about c's.Without an injury to greek or dame doubt we can beat milw unless riley can make a trade for a borderline all star player type.brogdon rozier

So there is a change, that Heat will start the season without traditional point guard.

I m a bit concerned about that.

I remember very clearly Herro playing point two or three years ago, and I remember JRich playing the same too. Both stinked in that role, and they were replaced with other players. and I m not convinced that they improved in that role.

Jimmy and Bam can make plays, true, but when they play as playmakers, is harder for them to do other stuff, like scoring and rebounding.

This could become a serious problem, which should be solved soon.

No. 3 most glaring and no. 8 most compelling...just to distract other teams and let Jimmy do his thing.

My own questions...

are we a play-in team? Again?

are there available, good trades that Riles can still make?

is Lowry the same weight as when Pat made that comment?

Training camp is here hope everyone is healthy. Go Heat!!
