C – Bam Adebayo/Kevin Love/Thomas Bryant/Orlando Robinson
Note: Harden is on expiring contract so he will likely be on his best behavior in order to obtain the best extension available. Whether or not Miami re-signs him, they would have an all-star caliber player (21.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 10.7 apg, and 38.5 3-pt%) and an opportunity to get out from under both the Lowry and Robinson contracts. Wishful thinking, I know.
I saw this trade on one of the media sites, though I think it had the pick listed as 2029. I thought as much distaste as I have for prima donna Harden, I’d take that deal for the reasons you mentioned. I couldn’t imagine the Heat giving him the extension he wants, so he’d be a one and done.
It is what it is. The first league game is on October 29th against Detroit. Much can happen between now and then. Spo has to carefully assess what talent he has, how players mesh together and how much flexibility he has with various line-ups and players in various roles. Hopefully, if Herro or Richardson are not able to adequately fill the PG role, Lowry can start and play 15-20 minutes a game until a a full-time replacementment can be acquired. I expect Riley to trade for the best PG he can get within the next 4-6 weeks, hopefully without having to give up Herro. There are several possible candidates out there. How does Robinson and a pick for Brogdon or Rozier sound?
I would be good with Brogdon, and it sounds like the Heat actually did put in a bid for Holiday, so they demonstrated a willingness to still work with Portland.
I also like the move so we can get this revenge angle with Boston. ;) Holiday is worried about beating the Bucks but we'll have Brogdon light up the Celtics. Just throwing it out in to the universe.
I'd love to hve Brogdon. In the Celtics series, I thought he was a major problem for us in the first two games of the playoffs and he gave Philly trouble in that series. He actually fits us better than Harden. Harden, like apparently Lowry, is pretty much out for himself. And no matter how good you are, that can be a major headache.
The deal does not have to happen before the start of the season. I would argue waiting creates better value for Miami. There will be teams that are already out of it by December. Players in those situations will start chirping about being traded. Tranquilo, hombre.
I say wwe need help at the gaurd position now. Jimmy will wear down with too much responsibility. He has to carry us already without bringing the ball up a lot of the time.
I think so too. But with Spo talking about position-less basketball I am a afraid he will cause us some headaches during the regular season. Hopefully he will work it out again by playoffs.
Lowry not speaking to media.Really we dont want to hear from your fat ass.Problem is nobody wants your fat overpaid ass especially the heat. The only team i worry about in the east is milw.As long as Boston has jalen brown not worried about c's.Without an injury to greek or dame doubt we can beat milw unless riley can make a trade for a borderline all star player type.brogdon rozier
Maybe there is more to the Lowry story. If not, he has 29.7 mil. amount of nerve. It may be a cautionary tale, where occasionally one player commands so much salary and still isn't willing to go all out. Or one maycall a GM that is paying them 32 million a "liar" and refuse to play for them. Luckily most players give their all when they get PAID.
Yeah wtf is Lowry pouting about? My guy, the Heat gave up Precious Predator, Goran and paying out the effing ass for you to come here and give moments of support, but not when they needed it. He's on an expiring deal and my money is he will be used at the trade deadline.
So there is a change, that Heat will start the season without traditional point guard.
I m a bit concerned about that.
I remember very clearly Herro playing point two or three years ago, and I remember JRich playing the same too. Both stinked in that role, and they were replaced with other players. and I m not convinced that they improved in that role.
Jimmy and Bam can make plays, true, but when they play as playmakers, is harder for them to do other stuff, like scoring and rebounding.
This could become a serious problem, which should be solved soon.
I agree . I just said similar above. I think its hard to get much better at ball handlng. Guys like Herro and Richardson can be exploited. I love Herro and think he is fine past midcourt. I like him qb-ing the team from there. But not backcourt.
Agree since there is no clarity or 10-15 games played to see how it looks and runs. I'm sure they are hoping for Hampton to become a bench PG. But even that is left to be seen. It should be fun seeing how it plays out. I hope :P
Lowry said he expects to be the starting PG. Spo said camp and pre-season will determine who is the starter. And off we go!
I think Lowry will be traded before the deadline. Meanwhile, he has a chance to earn a spot on the first or second unit.
HEAT GET: JAMES HARDEN AND P.J. TUCKER
76ERS GET: KYLE LOWRY, DUNCAN ROBINSON AND 2027 1ST-ROUND PICK (TOP 8 PROTECTED)

Bingo!
Miami is not place for Harden. To many certain clubs.

looks like Swider is a keeper. 6'9", gifted shooter, prototypical Bam frontcourt partner. But yeah, we badly need a pg
My question is why the nba are always trolling the heat?
The pencil-neck commissioner can't stand Riley Swagger. Also, Front Office types who never laced them up to pound the rock on the hardwood.

time to bring in.....point Justise
Lol

It wasnt fan watching playing Herro and JRich point. Herro had been moved to the bench, and JRich to small forward position.
No. 3 most glaring and no. 8 most compelling...just to distract other teams and let Jimmy do his thing.
My own questions...
are we a play-in team? Again?
are there available, good trades that Riles can still make?
is Lowry the same weight as when Pat made that comment?
Training camp is here hope everyone is healthy. Go Heat!!
If they stay healthy and focused they are a top 6 team in the east.
