With the Heat's system, big possibility. But with that Dame issue still up in the air...we could only wait.

As is, Miami is favored to be a top three team in the East. Riley has until the trade deadline to make a move. With Lowry's expiring contract, a veteran/battle tested team, young assets and draft picks to wheel and deal with, he is in no rush.

As far as depth, they have a plethora of veterans (Butler, Bam, Herro, Lowry, Martin, Bryant, Love, Richardson) and are developing up-and-coming undrafted players all the time (e.g. Orlando Robinson, Cain, Highsmith, and others) not to mention young studs like Jaquez and Jovic.

As far as a waiting game, Miami has a ton of time to wait. However, the clock is ticking on Allen/Cronin. After all, Allen/Cronin promised Lillard that if he signed the extension, they would build a contending team around him before he retired. Now, we all now see what a crock that turned out to be...most of all Dame.

Riley is as patient as they come. If this deal eventually falls through, he'll find another quality PG elsewhere to trade for over the next 7 months. Meanwhile, he'll just wait until Allen/Cronin come around. Remember, it was Dame who picked Miami...not the other way around.
