One thing that is noticeable is that the Miami Heat are getting a lot of praise, respect and notice from the rest of the country.

Players will want to come play here.

Heat Culture is in full effect.

People are asking Caleb Who? Who's Max Strus?

Where did Gabe Vincent come from?

I feel like Heat team is at the casino and playing with other people's money. Already put Bucks' money in the bank and earning interest. Now working on cleaning the table and walking out with Knicks' money to stake us for next series. We came into this with low expectations (based on how the Heat played against Atlanta and Chicago in the Wild Card/Play-In Round in the Kiddie Pool) plus the injuries to Herro and Oladipo. Now, the sky is the limit. The team has absolutely nothing to lose. Give 100% and let the chips fall where they may. I'm enjoying every minute of it! GO HEAT!!!

Expand full comment

the injury to herro is why we are this far i truly believe that ,dude plays 0 defense shoots 20 shots a game.get him out for some 2 wayers.lgh

Expand full comment

I think Riley and Spo have come to that realization. I can see trading Herro for a two-way PG, PF or C (with Bam sliding over to PF). Detroit is loaded with young players who would fit our system. Plus they have a top 5 pick this summer plus a second rounder. The Heat could probably pick up 3 solid players from them (maybe a PG, PF and C) for Herro.

synopsis: Heat went on to win it all after Tyler came back from injury contributing big in the finals having 40pt games twice.

disclaimer - this is not getting ahead counting the chicks before they hatch lol

its just lets wait for all these to unravel. plus i just had my Herro jersey for a year haha!

ty can fetch u something good.once they look at his d might not be that great

Expand full comment

Herro is Devin Booker a few years ago, without the defense. For him to become a legit NBA star, he must do what Booker did, work very hard on his defense and become a two-way player. Otherwise, he will just be a shooter with no D.

Dude, can't you ever make a positive comment without throwing in a negative dig at the end? For example: "Oh yes honey your dress is very pretty. It makes you look less fat." Or, "Thank you for the $100 gift. I just wish you would have given it to me yesterday when I really needed more instead." Or, "I am the biggest Heat fan of all. I just wish they weren't so _________ (fill in the blank with negative comment)." Shit like that.

Expand full comment

I'm sure the Bucks were above our pay grade too.

We(our teams) all play in the same NBA league. Our players get paid millions too just like the Lakers and GSW.

Reminder again: This same team went to the ECF last year. Was the top 3 point shooting team. Replaced PJ for Kevin Love(even swap?) .

It's time we look at this past regular season as not a true indicator of who we are as a team.

This core group has been through several deep playoff runs. That experience is priceless. It places us near the top of the line to receive the Larry O.

Won't be easy and there are no guarantees.

I'm not picking any team over the Heat.

We have as good a chance as any of the teams still playing.

Let's Go!!!

Overal, we are better team then NY. Both teams plays at their max, and the results are clear.

At the end, both Randle and Brunson were gassed, both were hunted all game.

we are almoust there, would be nice to finish Knicks in NY.

I miss Heat4life ever since he went over to the dark side to troll the Knicks SBNation (Hosting and Toasting) site. The NY gamethread had 1,277 comments. Several interesting ones. They are tired of Thibs. The Heat are leaving fired coaches in their wake. https://www.postingandtoasting.com/2023/5/8/23716153/game-4-thread-knicks-at-heat-05-08-23#comments

The media pushed hard on the narrative that the bright lights of MSG would be too much for the Heat.

It’s the most ridiculous take I’ve ever heard. When did MSG become a place that overwhelm visitors? It’s not like Cameron Indoor at the peak of Duke’s powers

Expand full comment

It used to be a center for most events apart from basketball but not anymore , the younger players who do not know the history are not overwhelmed.

2nd most ridiculous take was Jalen Rose saying that the Knicks are struggling due to the humidity in Miami lol, I guess I didn’t realize they were playing pick up ball in an outdoor park

I mean the Knicks lost at home game 1, and were losing game 2 in the 4th, despite no playoff Jimmy. Guess it was humid in New York those days? Ha.

It seems like both teams are playing at pretty much their level of effectiveness. The Heat have just a little bit more and will likely advance. But, without Herro and Oladipo, we may have reached our "Peter principle," The highest you can go with your skill set.

Which team is playing better than the Heat?

Expand full comment

I would have said Boston but the way they are playing tonight has surprised me. Philly is kicking their butts. But, still, I do think Phily, yes and Boston, are playing a little better, and LA, and defintely Denver and Phoenix, are playing better. But, I admit, all my observations are subjective.

Also, I am thrilled that Philly is doing so well as I thought Boston was the best in the East until tonight. And Philly is only going as far as Embiid's knees will take them. So, maybe the Heat do have a chance in the next round.

Whatever happens from here on Heat outdid themselves already (we've said that after Milw series). Hoping no one questions the Heat culture anymore. Lets just all enjoy the ride!

Hear, hear !

Be careful what you wish for is an idiom Knick fans may learn soon.

Knicks fans rooted for Heat to prevail against Bucks (thanks), so they could ride over Heat which was considered the weakest team in the East. They may be thinking otherwise now. I am not getting ahead of myself or trying to jinx the Heat. I hope the Heat close it out on Thursday at MSG. For Stephen A Smith, I hope the sky will be red. I will ride with Kevin Perkins who gave the Heat a decent chance to make it to ECF.

Before game 1 of this series Stephen A was saying the Knicks were going to the ECF. Sure, that dream is still alive, but just a perfect example of how everyone was overlooking the Heat, which was insane considering they just beat the #1 seeded Bucks.

Expand full comment

See Knicks blog playoff preview. They're already dreaming of ecf even finals at the start of this series. Now they're cursing their own team lol

Expand full comment

I honestly cannot believe this team is 1 win away from their 3rd ECF in 4 years. And it's looking like a showdown with one of my least favorite teams in the East regardless of who wins on the other side of the bracket.

I guess we have to see how this plays out before we make any declarative statements, but it seems like Jimmy Buckets is a no-brainer top-4 player in Heat history. He's still behind Zo, Wade, and LeBron, but at this point he's closer to the top-3 than the second tier guys like Bosh, Shaq, and Tim Hardaway.

My only question is how much gas Jimmy has left in the tank. He's playing great, but he was better in round 1 than he was in round 2. Hopefully the Heat can close out in 5 and the Tankers/Suckers series goes to 7, so that Jimmy can get some rest and the Heat can sustain their crown as the 21st century kings of the East.

Expand full comment

There was no ankle injury slowing him down in round 1

The deeper you go in the playoffs the more difficult the job gets since you're playing against better opponents and teams.

Expand full comment

Tankers/Suckers lol

Expand full comment

I'm not worried about the Sixers, the Heat beat them in the second round last year. But I do worry that as you go deeper into the playoffs, guys start to wear down physically. That's where relying too much on one scorer will get you into trouble.

Jimmy was gassed out. Hopefully, they close it out on Thursday so everyone gets some rest, including the coaches. Brain fatigue begins to set in this later stages.

Imagine how strong LeBron 's mental and physical state is to go to 9 finals in a row.

That feat is truly underrated.

I think that, once he retires, LeBron will be the unanimous and obvious choice for the best athlete so far this century.

And Lakers 1 away from ousting Dirty Draymond. Go ahead, make my day!

Draymond is not a dirty player. He is intense and plays hard. Just needs to check his passion. A dirty player is out to foul intentionally and damn the consequence.

Although the foul Sabonis committed was uncalled for, the retaliatory stomp on the chest from DG was a dirty play that could have seriously injured DS. The suspension was warranted.

I’ve never been a fan of his, and glad he never played for the Heat. Just my personal take - not saying I’m right or wrong on this.

That makes him a dirty player?

My impressions:

Jimmy and Bam's offensive efforts seemed quiet yet they logged in 27 and 23 points respectively, very impressive.

Randle did not force things in the paint but I was impressed with the shots he made.

Heat's half court pressure definitely surprised the Knicks but Barret made good decisions for Knicks with the ball in his hands.

Heat's defense again was better than the Knicks.

Again the Heat's bench outperformed the Knick's bench.

The Heat once again played a complete team game both in offense and defense.

Well done Spo for excellent coaching and to the team for near perfect execution.

Contrary to my fears, the refs were fair but Knick's fans will disagree. The fouls called on the Knicks were those subtle fouls usually called on Heat's Duncan Robinson.

Its funny how every game. The Knicks fans slowly gets one step closer to reality from Nba Finals before game 1, gentlemen sweep at game 2, we can tie it before game 4 that turned to fire thib, there should be at least a great 3 and D player to get after the season , and at least dont lose at MSG after game 4.
