Hopefully we can get Thomas Bryant. That dude is a double double stretch 4 and is hungry to be recognize and can stretch the floor with his threes so he can play with Butler and Bam. But since we have Kevin Love And Jovic,i think thats not possible.

What we really need is a point guard.

Expand full comment

Agree. I like him and Wagner as stretch 4's with room to grow and in the Heat's current price range considering the exceptions. Personally I think use two of the 3 exceptions. One on a big/stretch 4 and one on a PG. I think with wing they have Highsmith and Jrich to go along with a rejuvenated Duncan. That being said I would not mind a Bates-Diop at all ;)

Those are definitely decent choices, and bates-Diop is on the suns now I think.

rozier for ty makes sense both teams have needs at that position.teams dont really announce which players are avail if they feel it will improve they make a trade

They don't huh? You mean like harden, Butler, Durant, Beal and on and on. We'll know when there is real smoke.

Also, I don't think a Ball-Herro backcourt is something a serious GM would consider.

Again, trades. This isn't a video game. The other team has to be in a position to trade AND want what we're offering. So again, when you want to stop playing NBA2K let me know. I'll be down here

You are good at asking questions...offering proposed solutions, not so much. Charlotte and Detroit both have excess players in certain positions and needs to fill in others that Miami can fill. I'm just brainstorming/spitballing. What are your proposed solutions?

Expand full comment

I have proposed several REAL possibilities. You are posting trade scenarios as if they are matter of fact. There has been zero word of Rozier being on the block. Your posts are completely disingenuous. I have and never will dabble in clown scenarios like HFL talking sign Lopez and Van Vleet. just bonkers crap to create fake hurdles the team has to jump and if they don't the front office sucks. I leave that to Bozo's since they are professionals.

The only trade target I have mentioned was Turner from the Pacers because there was as tory a week ago about the Lakers trying to snag him. So I suggested the team reach out to see if that smoke was real but there was smoke. My other suggestions have been around the edges like Pat said in his interview. Those are real possibilities. At this point that's what i would do and take Lowry's contract in to the season and let Dame realize he's going nowhere and then we can use Lowry's contract for matching salaries.

Damn! Jaxon Hayes to Lakers. He was one I also suggested

Miami is not in a position financially to recruit free agents. The only way they will get a legit starting PG (and a big) is through a trade. I looked around to see which team(s) have an excess in PGs and PFs/Cs and needs that we might be able to fill. At least I tried to find a solution.

Meanwhile, you still haven't answered your own question:

"So remind me how we're signing a real PG ;)"

I'm waiting...

Hilarious the Cavs trying to send the Heat Cedi Osman in the Strus trade and the Heat said get that crap out of here, so they have been looking for a 3rd team, possibly San Antonio lol

Finally happening. A second round pick and another trade exception for $7 mil. Nice

Free agent Max Strus has agreed to sign a four-year, $63 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. In a three-team trade, the Miami Heat get a future second-round pick, while the San Antonio Spurs acquire Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens and a future second. - ESPN

Bye Max, and thanks!

This FA period could not be a better advertisement for players, present and undrafted, to get their ass to the Heat.

Expand full comment

Yep. No one does it better.

Not if Miami isn't able to offer what other teams are willing to pay. Look around. Players are getting rediculous contracts. NBA is example of out-of-control greed. Absolutely crazy! It can't last. The whole thing is going to implode!

Expand full comment

I agree: shifting CBA requirements radically every 5 years or so is extremely greedy on the part of the league. The NBA earns billions of dollars annually, and our highest paid player is only getting $60 million/year? We're told that it's for parity, but in an open market you're worth what someone is willing to pay you. So why is the NBA artificially preventing its players from getting paid what they're worth?

Michael Jordan, in selling his majority stake (i.e., not even the whole team) in possibly the worst team in the league, located in a market so small they *lost their franchise* a mere 20 years ago, just earned more money in one day than he did in the previous 40 years from Nike. If a bad NBA franchise is worth that much money, then how much are the 18 players on its roster *really* worth?

Anyway. Hooray capitalism!

Expand full comment

How do you figure? The point is these guys were undrafted nobodies until the Heat built them up. We also rehabbed Dion Waiters who was a high pick that struggled. Again, this is the best advertisement the team could wish for with undrafted and former high picks that haven't found their way
