The Miami Heat host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday for an early 6:00 pm tipoff time in their third game of their preseason schedule in preparation of the 2023-24 NBA season.
Note Lillard (age: 33) is due $215 million over the next 4 years. Herro (age 23) is due $120 million. Meanwhile, Miami gets to keep Herro, Jaquez, Jovic and draft picks!
my point is jimmy and damian are about the same age have the same # quality years left 2-3.why not go for a ring with dame have them both retire hopefully with rings.in nba u get good fast thru fa lebron bosh jimmy .3 of the 4 best players in heat history were fas.i like ty when hes got fresh legs it seems as the season goes on he physically wears down and eventually gets hurt.tys a 44 38 guy shoots alot and plays sht d.he will get u points and give up just as many.dont see the fatuation with ty either did portland.u lose ty jaquez jovic u still got caleb hh cain jrich.bad move not making trade in my heat opinion ask jimmy how he feels sun man
Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. Lillard's scoring average last year (32.2ppg) was highest of his career because he was playing for a shit team. I expect it will drop to around his career average (25.2ppg) this year since he will be surrounded by Greek Freak (31.1ppg), plus Middleton, Lopez, Portis, Connaughton, etc. I expect Herro's average to increase to low-mid 20's.
By the way, 6'2" Lillard had the lowest defensive rating among all PG's in the NBA in 2022-2023 (120. 8). 6'5" Herro's defensive rating was a respectable/middle-of-the-pack 114.8.
But wait, there's more...
Miami still has assets (draft picks, quality young players, quality veteran rotation players and Lowry's expiring contract) that can be used to add a quality PG by the trade deadline. So there's that to consider.
GO HEAT!!!
P.S. Detroit has five PG's. I'm sure they can spare one in a trade.
Correct, as we’ve seen with teams that have/had Harden, Embiid, CP3, Tatum, George, Brown, Westbrook, Lillard, Booker, Doncic, Mitchell, etc.
AND, if we got Lillard and didn’t win, it would likely be at least 6 years from right now to 2029 before we had any real chance to be competitive. Four years of that $200 million dollar contract, plus the 2-3 draft picks we gave up. If people like my buddy above are miserable when we are competitive most years, imagine when we aren’t year after year - the last 2 years of the Lillard contract plus 2 or 3 years after. Free agents likely will not want to come here if there is little chance of winning.
I just noticed that Jimmy Butler is listed is out due to a dental procedure. He's the biggest weirdo on this team since Chris Bosh. And I swear I mean that as a compliment
They do. Philly, Detroit, KC, SF, Buffalo, all challengers. Maybe others too. But Fish have a real shot ths year. If Tua stays healthy, were going far.
Not with you on that comment. Duncan resurrected himself in last years playoffs so he gets slack now for his occasional off night. Love had a great career, but has had only a few brief flashes of his former self, even less than Lowry.
I hope he makes the team, but its a little harder to see the role for him. He's not as big as Highsmith, so he can't defend as many positions. And I've always thought the best case for him was Josh Richardson.....who is now back on the team.
Highsmith is listed as 6'5" 220 lbs. Cain 6'6" 190. I get that he's an inch taller, but those 30 lbs matter. We saw Highsmith defend Tatum (210) in the playoffs and I just don't think Jamal could do that.
I do like Cain though and it's good to have 2 J-Riches. Just think Highsmith will get more minutes
How is that not FLAGRANT foul for Bam.He was shoved off in flight.
Jimmy out with hair bruise.
Love out with sore everything.
Heat playing well 3rd unit on the floor.Only scorers are Herro and Robinson.
Let’s go game thread!
Not trading Tyler Herro plus other assets in a big trade for Dame Lillard may be the best move Riley makes all season long.
Absolutely...no matter what H4L says.
Note Lillard (age: 33) is due $215 million over the next 4 years. Herro (age 23) is due $120 million. Meanwhile, Miami gets to keep Herro, Jaquez, Jovic and draft picks!

An aging Jimmy, Dame, and Bam weren't going to win anything.

Praying for everyone to remain healthy, most important factor!
Good game.
Cain already won the competition for this years diamond in the rough.
Its also clear now why Heat have Champaigne.
All of the rest looks really good.
This is gonna be a fan team to watch.
I can see this team can be no. 1 in the east.
Stop it, Stop it now. I am ok with being #6 seed. Don't raise my hope, lol.
I forgot to mention, that being no. 1 in the east is only the first step to win the title. :)
start Bryant, Bam, Jimmy, Herro, Kyle (for now) when season begins. thank God im not coach Spo. Heat but looking good in three preseason games
MANILA!!! I was worried about you man! Welcome!
Thanks! Glad to be back and much "gladder" to see our team balling. Was just busy with "international issues" lol
We were afraid you got traded away without our knowledge. Oops!
No other team wants me, thank God! Lol
bro your back we were so worried i can sleep now wheww
Just been watching in the sidelines haha
all these players are great players. some are just greater than others .best few hundred players in the world.
go giants
Respectfully, Lofton is the fattest NBA player I’ve ever seen.
Glen Davis
I still think this guy looked worse than any of them
barkley
Barkley never looked that bad
cains d is all nba level
Pop the cork!
eric reads hhh?
No, I’m just usually ahead of the curve
i think orob needs minutos somewhere
I’d like to see Bryant play pf with Bam.
yes
cain or dunc who does rc want gobbling up sf minutos
Cain is Abel!
cain can duncan
duncs playmaking has gotten better for sure for me if i was the coach i wouldnt play him
next play gives it back rc
Duncan!!
bryant over zeller major upgrade
I’ve been saying that. O Robinson too.
so whos backup c orob or bryant
I think Bryant to start the year (Spo has been using him before Orlando), but both have been good
For now, Bryant. I like both.
dont remember bryant being this thin looks like a diff player
dunc was a terrible contract pat and the heat will have to live with.nobody wants dunc
73 Dolphins, the remaining ones, can raise a glass again!
sorry 30 every dolphin fan knows its 1972
My bad. SB took place in 73, but 72 team.
True, but they won in ‘73 too. But not since unfortunately.
72 team its referred to.2023 team has a shot
I didn’t say otherwise. Only said the 73 also won. That’s true
They do. Philly, Detroit, KC, SF, Buffalo, all challengers. Maybe others too. But Fish have a real shot ths year. If Tua stays healthy, were going far.
72 sir u must not be a fan
swider better than dunc
Great pass Herro!
Wow, Cain a keeper!
herros problem besides d is durability.hes so active now with fresh legs.20 games of wear and tear we shall see
But as a Heat fan, safe to assume you’re pulling for him to do well and stay healthy, right?
i tell it like it is i think want the heat to win a ring of course
of course rc but based on previous years he always gets hurt
cain does everything better than dunc even shooting now
Feel pretty confident saying Herro will set a career high in ppg
what does spo see in dunc u got caleb hh cain all better
ty will get u 20 and give up 20 thats a problem with him
He’s playing a their best player even. Nothing wrong with that.
hes playing their best player even no jj is their best player
jj there best player
Bane has 26, JJ 14. Talking about this game. Pay attention please
this game ok sorry
What happened to the edit feature?
just glad hhh is still alive
Bam and Herro have had some nice connections tonight
bains killing ty though
Doesn't anyone else see that Love does five things wrong for every one he does right?
he gives u size outside shooting great long passer but pretty much sucks ass
If his outside shooting was better he would have a raison de etre.
Meanwhile Herro putting on a show. Cain doing well.
will see this year, i think he can shoot around 38% on 3s.but hes slow as sht
Like molasses on a cold day.
same with dunc hes useless 2
Not with you on that comment. Duncan resurrected himself in last years playoffs so he gets slack now for his occasional off night. Love had a great career, but has had only a few brief flashes of his former self, even less than Lowry.
Nice night for Lowry do far. Would love to find a long term answer at PG, but until that's there Lowry will have a big role
It’s impressive how much weight he’s lost
will that translate into a better player
I think it has to
It can't hurt and it's at least proof he's worked hard this summer
hes not getting any younger rc.
Being thinner takes strain off your knees and helps with quickness. He definitely needed both.
cain hh ty bam jim would be my closing team
cain what a rebound wow
Let’s go Heat!
Game thread!
Really want Highsmith to play 30 minutes this year
what about cain
I hope he makes the team, but its a little harder to see the role for him. He's not as big as Highsmith, so he can't defend as many positions. And I've always thought the best case for him was Josh Richardson.....who is now back on the team.
He is bigger than Highsmih. And maybe slightly more athletic.
3 inches taller. That makes a difference. Highsmith definitely plays larger than his size though. Solid player.
I see Cain listed as 6’6” on some sites. I think he’s taller as espn indicates.
6’7” vs 6’4”. Pretty big difference.
hh is 6 8?
Listed at 6’4” or 6’5”.
wow only 6 4 thought he was bigger rc
40
duncan
tyler loves shooting
lowrys body def thinner
Let's Go Heat!
