The Miami Heat continue their NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with Saturday’s early 3:00pm game against the Boston Celtics in the Cox Pavilion.
Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. will not play today due to a shoulder injury sustained earlier this week during the team’s previous Summer League game. Jamaree Bouyea (sprained right ankle) is also out.
*Likely to be included in Lillard trade: Martin, Jaquez, Jovic, ORobinson, Herro (to be traded to third team such as Brooklyn), plus 2 first round picks and player(s) and pick(s) from third team.
MIAMI ROSTER POST LILLARD TRADE
PG: Lillard, Dru, ?
SG: Richardson, DRobinson, ?
SF: Butler, Cain, ?
PF: Love, Highsmith, ?
C: Bam, Bryant, ?
Assuming Riley can ultimately work out a deal with Portland, possibly giving up Herro, Martin, Jaquez, Jovic, ORobinson, and 2-3 draft picks sounds like mortgaging the Heat's future for one player. I, for one, don't think it is worth it. I would prefer to keep our young players and draft picks and explore other options. Personally, I think Jovic, Jaquez and ORobinson have potential to be very good rotation players. With the acquisition of Bryant and the development of ORobinson, the Heat can be a very good team, if Pat can work out a trade for a good starting PG.
The following article helped me to crystalize my opinion on this matter.
I strongly disagree... its time to go all in, which means trade everything for Lillard and try to win it all this season. I dont think that Jaquez and ORob wil be involved into the trade (restrictions), so we are probalby talking about Herro, Martin, Jovic , with Lowry also gone.
We will get at least a player, maybe two back beside Lillard, we can expect vets, who could serve as backups or end of the bench players in the frontcourt, but I dont see to get a solid backup point guard within this trade. So we will need another trade to get one, or wait with for buyout market and survive till then with Dru (and Goran).
Jaquez is available for trade 30 days after signing and would undoubtedly be included in any package with Portland. I don't think this deal will be done before August 1. So there's that. It's good we signed Robinson when we did.
It's easy to gamble with other people's money. You are willing to put all Miami's eggs in one basket this season and for the next few years to come by getting rid of most of our young players and draft picks and banking on Dame not getting injured the rest of the season? You do know, if that happens, unlike last year with Herro, Miami could be out of the playoffs entirely and pretty much screwed for the next few years with no young players or draft picks? Riley will be long gone by that point, Butler will be aging and Bam will be demanding a trade specifically to the Boston Celtics, just after signing a huge extension (ala Dame). I think it would be very foolish for Miami to take that gamble. But that's just me.
-Miami was close 3 times in past 4 years, but never made it.
-Jimmy is not younger every day.
-Bam reached his potential.
Miami have the window 1 to max 2 seasons to made it, with some reinforcement.
Dame trade is the most logical move, no matter casualties.
So we have 2 more years, and after that two aging stars with big contracts and Bam in his prime.
Then it will be time to rebuild and time for young players... now is time for stars and experienced wets.
Every franchise, even Miami, or SA are bad sometimes... Miami will be bad 3 years from now, but I sure, a title winner this year or next year.
Dont get me wrong, I like what we have in young players, and I woudnt loose any of them, but its an opportunity, and when one occurs, you dont miss it.
Fortunately Orlando can't be traded until December. Also hopefully giving them Martin in the trade package will allow us to keep either jovic or JJJ, especially if a 3rd and or 4th team joins this trade.
That's a good thing. But it makes Miami's "trade package" that much weaker. I think Portland will hold out until Dame agrees to be traded to another contending team. I see Boston as the team with the best players and picks to offer. San Antonio, Philly, Utah, New Orleans, Toronto and Brooklyn can also offer packages superior to Miami's. Time will tell.
Yes that might be true, unless we get a third or fourth team, that gives us more assets for herro. Also if we can get our 1st round pick back from okc. But yes all those teams can give better offers. Of those teams only 2 are contenders (Boston, philly). We can give better offers then them player wise because Philly doesn't want to trade Maxey. Also Boston isn't gonna trade away brown, and an injury prone brogdon, who recently failed in trade attempt, won't be able to entice them in my opinion. The longer the hold out will be better for dame because trailblazers can't have this going past training camp because scoot and Sharpe will be answering questions every week about dame. Also If dame is still there during the season, he might sit out if he is really serious, which I think will distress his value a little.
I’m with you. Either way, it’s going to be a solid team. Better in the immediate sense with Lillard of course, but still a fun watchable team either way.

Any thoughts on John wall as pg for us? I heard he's working out for teams in Vegas.
Yeah, Wall, Kemba all former all stars.
I dont see them playing winning basketball.. Goran for 10 min. per game and Dru as backup point guards is better option.
That makes sense, so i assume you like dru over bouyeh then.
Miami needs a younger starting PG. We already have Lowry.
What about ayo from chicago?
Not really a point guard. Lost in space.
Frustrating player.
Solid shooter, strong, crafty, but somehow everything he does is negative for his team.
They cut him loose. Maybe good for G League. Not the big team.

Correct on the first sentence. Hopefully correct on the rest.

We'll still need to trade away most of the future on a very big gamble.
True, well I will be happy with or without Lillard.
I’m with you. Either way, it’s going to be a solid team. Better in the immediate sense with Lillard of course, but still a fun watchable team either way.
The Big Four with Orlando Robinson in the mix with Jimmy B, Bam, and Damian.
I was not pleased that Peterson was not involved by his team mates. He was open several times but got no pass. The main culprit was Dru.
Dion Waiters and Harry Giles III plan to hold workouts for teams...
Gummies!!!!
Great game.
That game was nothing short of awesome.
So who needs Dame?! lol
Lets go summer leaguers, undrafteds!!
U want to turn Dame and his agents off?
Good thing they're not yet part of HHH 😆😂
Orlando a beast 💪
Orlando playing great right now, that big and big duo looks good together.
Great! Thanks. I can’t buy NBA tv on bluestream
This probably jovic best defensive summer league game.
Jovic with a post move I like it.
He grew 2 inches as well.
Jovic looking solid
