Don't want him. Take a look at the fans of teams he's been on : they're all happy to see him ago. If we play him next to Bam, we just get taller, we don't get any better defensively.

If Dame trade falls through...

Trade Lowry and Herro to Charlotte for Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward.

Trade Martin and draft pick to Detroit for Isaiah Stewart and Killian Hayes.

Starters: Rozier, Butler, Hayward, Stewart, Bam,

Reserves: Hayes, Robinson, Jaques, Highsmith, Jovic,

Consider re-signing Love, Cain, ORobinson, Yurtseven and best affordable free agent (TJ Warren?)

Do not re-sign Vincent, Strus, Zeller, Haslem,

Stretch Oladipo over 3 years @ $3.150M per year.

I watched a lot of him playing in Dallas. Not good at all.

Not a Miami Heat type of player.

I had the same thought. He doesn't hustle and doesn't play defense. Seems like a very bad fit for Miami.

Everyone saying sign him or the team is stupid and this, that, and the other. Right now the Heat have like no money, especially if they plan on signing Vincent. Because of that other teams can and will offer Woods. It will be up to Woods to take the money or wait. They all take the money (of course). They could stretch Lowry and get money but I think they are trying to use Lowry's contract for matching purposes.

bad news 2qbn.the only realistic decent player would be dame cause he wants to play with bam

Thankfully, the Herald is reporting that they’re not going to stretch Lowry and will look to trade him. Also, if the Heat clear salary in the next few days, they could sign a player like Woods. Next several days should give us a better read on where we’re going. I still hope the Heat aren’t going to be patient with Lillard as has been reported. We were patient with LeBron, Giannis, and Durant, and ended up with nada as the market dried up.

Exactly. We have been thru this before.

I just read that and agree it's great news. I'm still in the call the Pacers and see why the rumors of Turner to L.A. popped up. I think Turner is a great fit. I also think Dame is probably the perfect fit with regards to defined roles. Smoke out there still says Dame gets traded and Heat are in position, so we'll see

I don't get what's going on with Miles Turner. He's a 7-footer that can shoot three's and protect the rim. He's the type of player every team would want. He's always on the trade block, and he never gets traded. There must be something we don't know about him.

Turner would be a great fit

YES!!!! SIGN HIM WOOD BIG MAN !!

Trust me on this, the guy likely will be snatched by another team at the Heat's traditional snail speed.

Thats what concerns me too. I think we are being played by Lillard. Even if not, I think we should shift and go after guys like this. Its just looking more like its going to take too long for Lillard.

Cause they waiting on someone to request a trade (which he’s not gonna do) and Mia will be picking from the scrap heap again.

Who to request a trade?

Get his ass! Fuck dame tbh. Riley said it. Subtle moves. Wood checks the boxes and he's not prohibitively expensive. Just hope we don't lose out dragging our heels waiting for Dr. Sunken Costs over in pdx

Biggest obstacle is dallas has like 1 big outside of wood that could step up. Meanwhile they got 2s galore. Cant send dipo or dunc their way. Maybe they'll bit for orlando or yurt (maybe both) plus some cap filler

Oh shit, stupid, he's a free agent. Are we eligible for sign and trades at the salary we're at now?

Another gentle editor's note, and I apologize in advance for this one:

You "attain" a status or a goal, but you "obtain" an object or a person. So when this article talks about "attaining Wood," what that phrase actually means is something... not appropriate for a family website.

Refreshing. I had come to believe that the art of grammar is a lost art.

Legit chuckled when I came across that. Thanks for the confirm, Alaska :)

It'd be nice for Miami to find a big, but I find it highly unlikely. New CBA is going to prevent sign and trades. Miami has no cap space, and everyone seems to think they are going to play the long game again, for Dame. So how do they get a 16PPG game big, at veteran minimum?

Expand full comment

Does cba also prevent sign and trades if the partner below cap does the signing?

Of course I know exactly what the rules say. Asking for a friend 😅
