I am interested in the development of jamal cain. From what i had seen, he can be a replacement for max strus or will be the next one to step up in the heat roster. A two way player that can attack the rim, catch and shoot three, a great on ball defender, and can read passing lane to get the steal.
I think Jamal Cain, Haywood Highsmith, Jovic and Big Yurt will all have their chances next season.
I don't expect to see Gabe or Max back in Heat unis, but if nobody offers them the midlevel, I could see the Heat offering something similar to the Caleb martin 3/$20 contract
dudes a baller not sure why he couldnt be on active roster prob some stupid g league rule.his defense looks all star level.his offense looks good to,whos max strus bye bye
Gabe is a good back-up PG. He is not a reliable/consistent high scoring or high assist two-way starting PG.
Herro is a good one-way athletic SG. He can develop into a two-way SG as Booker did, if he makes his mind up to do it.
Bam is not a legit two-way Center. He could be a great PF.
Trade for a two-way point guard, re-sign Yurtseven and fast track him into a starting role next to Bam. Trade Lowry, Robinson, Oladipo, draft pick(s) and Jovic for best players available. Some rebuilding teams are looking for expiring contracts and draft picks in exchange for players who are not part of their rebuilding plans.
Herro compares favorably to Devin Booker, who was a poor defender the first four years of this career. Booker bulked up and made a serious commitment to be a better defender. He has since accomplished that. Herro can do the same.
Comparisons - Herro vs Booker:
Height: Herro 6'5" Booker 6'5"
Weight: Herro 195 Booker 205
Drafted: Herro #13 Booker 13th
Career MPG: Herro 31.5 Booker 34.6
Career FG%: Herro 43.9 Booker 46.1
Career 3PT% Herro 38.3 Booker 35.6
Career FT% Herro 87.5 Booker 86.8
Career RPG Herro 4.9 Booker 4.0
Career APG Herro 3.5 Booker 5.5
Career PPG Herro 17.7 Booker 23.9
Miami's weakness isn't so much at SG; it is at C/PF (whichever position Bam does not play) and PG. If Miami trades for a two-way, durable, starting point guard and a two-way starting frontcourt player who can defend the paint, rebound and spread the floor, they would be formidable. Omer Yurtseven could be the frontcourt starter
they are missing or at minimum, the back-up big they need.
I'd be surprised if they wanted either. Herro/Maxey/Simons are similar players, all somewhat undersized. I guess it would depend on who they get at 3, but if the Hornets pass on the PG (which would make sense, given LaMelo), and Portland takes him, hard to have a line-up of a 6'2 PG, 6'3 SG, and 6'5 SF. Also had to trade a superstar to put the key asset back on the bench.
If Portland trades Dame to Miami, the draft picks are what they want, not Herro. At least in my eyes.
miamis picks gonna be in the 20s what good is that, trade for a sorry team for picks, herro maxey very young there gonna want one of them.dame and embid is a scary thought
I am concerned that one, Dame still does not want to leave Portland and Portland has avenues to try to make him happy
and, two, even if he does leave now the Blazers will be talking to a number of teams. Taking all factors into account the odds of getting Lllard into a Heat uniform are only slightly higher than our odds of beating Boston in the playoffs. Our chance was to get Beal and either we blew it by offering too little or you can say his wife directed the outcome, which sounds likely.
So, since we are probably not getting Lillard, we should make one try at it and quickly move on, not waste anymore time when there are trades to be made that can help us. Lillard may be our best answer, but he isn't our only answer. If we make smart moves, but more in areas of need, we could come out just as ready to compete for the crown in 2024. It will take getting two high quality A- like players, but we have the assets and one thing everyone agrees on is we are all in. Lets move quickly past Lillard..
Not if you believe defense wins championships. Defense is not something the Phoenix Big 3 are known for, Ayton better buy a good pair of skates. Also, a team whose biggest weakness (exposed in the playoffs) is their bench depth may have handcuffed themselves with Beals contract, time will tell.
Playoffs? My concern for the suns is their bench depth in the upcoming regular season. The Suns played their stars and starting players for 33+ min just to stay with the denver and to have a slight chance to beat them. And now your going to do it for 82 games? Hopefully Durant will stay healthy till the end.
On another note. Hopefully Jamal Cain, Hayward Highsmith , and Yurt step up this upcoming season because i feel that there is going to be changes in the rosters and we are going to need them to have a chance at an nba finals again.
3 straight playoffs 3 straight Herro no shows. Can’t bring that guy back if we serious about winning waiting on him probably cost us a title already . Get OG and pivot to getting superior role players . Clean up the books and maximize flexibility mind you I am a Dame fan . We lost 3 straight finals not because we couldn’t score because we’ve been just straight up dominanted at the rim no more cute stuff we need 2 way DOGS !!!
They've made the Finals twice and the ECF three times in the past four years. I think there are a lot worse things that could happen than running back the same squad
Trade Herro and conditional future first and pick swap to Toronto for OG and Thad Young , Waive Young .
Trade Kyle and rights to a pick or second round picks swaps for Doug,Zach, and filler .
S$T Strus to Orlando for Bol Bol and filler .
Sign Yuta Watanabe,Rui(if lakers unrestrict him) ,or Dillion Brooks.
Still have Duncan,Dipo, and Caleb for another trade that equates to their collective salary. Maybe can S&T those for a Rui size/caliber player we need size BAD. if not mentioned they’re already pretty much a lock to return ie(Highsmith,Jovic) or walk like Omer.
Oh great, now you’re going to make me work! Have to take some time to look at salaries and availability. I’m not even certain how I feel about it yet. But it is very detailed and I think there’s a job in the front office waiting for you.
Draymond over here would be too fun. We could never swing it. Wood or beidges would be great. Ja getting traded is crazy, but grizz FO packed up brooks so... You know. Not off the table completely
Hmm, Draymond opted out of $27.5 million, so he’s expecting more I’d imagine. Pass. Ja? No way do I want that thug and his fake apologies on my team. Gifted player, but not a Heat type at all. Bridges? Gotta take a close look at the domestic violence issue and see if there was history there. I don’t know enough about Wood, other than his size and skill set seems a good fit.
I admit I don't know much about Wood either, but he seems like a player that is mostly focused on offense but a liability on defense, and doesn't seem to have the toughness that Riley and Spo usually look for. So I'm going to say I doubt he ends up on the Heat.
I like Dylan Brooks and I think he could be a good fit. Same with Draymond, but I doubt the Heat can afford him. Also, I know this is blasphemy, but if the Celtics are trying to get rid of Marcus Smart, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Heat uni
I see it as another always a bridwesmaid, never a bride, at least lately. Why do they always look towards us to get the bidding started. And then we always think, well, we passed because something better is coming. Lets hope so but it hasnt been the case lately.
Going further, running it back is unacceptable when you have a Jimmy Butler at his age, late in his career. I know we went as far as you can go without winning last season. But, in doing so Jimmy willed us forward way beyond our talent. I believe he did so even at the time he was not particularly playing well and was probably hurt. And, things fell beautifully our way to get us to the championship where our shortcomings were finally exposed. It is likely to not go down that way again and next season we won't get as far without a talent infusion. If nothing else, just age will catch up to us. We need more on this roster. We need a big piece, an A player, if not an A+ in Lillard, who I hope we get. We better not sit on our hands this time while everyone else improves.
I would keep an eye on the Blazers. If they trade their pick for a vet an re-sign their free agents, that means Dame is staying. But if they are quiet on draft night and quiet at the start of free agency, I would bet Dame starts next season in Miami
The thing is, is I don’t want the Heat to wait too long on any other one player. If the issue isn’t resolved one way or the other by start of free agency, I want the Heat to move on get a different (good) deal done.
I clearly don’t understand the machinations of the NBA. I just read a clutch points proposal that moves CP3 to the Heat. Now, I honestly wouldn’t mind the one year rental for Paul. In one of his worst seasons, he still had an excellent assist to TO ratio and shot the 3 well enough, though he missed 25 games. Still, I think he’d be fine here as starter or backup. But, the proposal is that we throw in a couple of seconds (not that we have them)??????? I’m clearly out of the loop because I think they should give US a draft pick for taking him.
Anyway, if we did do that deal, it would leave us plenty of assets to get a quality big man.

Cain is definitely worth signing to 2-3 year minimum contract. He has potential to be everyday rotation player.

Hey Pat...Just Do It!
GO HEAT!!!
I think the Heat can definitely turn expiring contracts into rotation players. The two questions are:
- do they trade for a Kuzma level rotation player, or do they hold out for a Dame Lillard level superstar?
- do they want to add a stretch big to play alongside Bam, or do they want to add a scoring guard to close out games?
unless ty bulks up he will never defend good

beale chose to play with kd and book over jimmy and bam.correct decision.

i really hope Riley has backup plan just in case Dame stays in Portland. Worst thing we can do is to run back the same team
They've made the Finals twice and the ECF three times in the past four years. I think there are a lot worse things that could happen than running back the same squad
Bad boy options for Heat.
PG: Ja Morant
SG: Dillion Brooks
SF: Miles Bridges
PF: Draymond Green
C: Christian Wood
Hell no lol
PG:Gabe
SG:Jimmy
SF:OG
PF:Bam
C:Zach Collins
Second unit
PG:Chris Paul or/ WestBrook
SG:Doug McDermott
SF:Rui
PF:Kevin
C:Bol Bol
So, no Herro, Martin, Highsmith, Jovic, Yurt, Lowry, Cain, O Robinson, Dipo, Duncan?
Can you explain the trades to get your roster here and how the numbers work?
Three team trade :
Trade Herro and conditional future first and pick swap to Toronto for OG and Thad Young , Waive Young .
Trade Kyle and rights to a pick or second round picks swaps for Doug,Zach, and filler .
S$T Strus to Orlando for Bol Bol and filler .

This is all of course if we don’t get Dame

No to Brooks. You can also add Grayson but no also hehe.

I’d take Smart in a heartbeat, but he’d have to dye his hair again! 😆
Bring back the Vice City uniforms and have Smart match his hair to that!
dillon brooks brings jae crowder pj toughness every team needs one we got none
I see it as another always a bridwesmaid, never a bride, at least lately. Why do they always look towards us to get the bidding started. And then we always think, well, we passed because something better is coming. Lets hope so but it hasnt been the case lately.

Suns have 4 players under guaranteed contracts at around 160 million - holy cow!
My guess is they move Ayton for role players because they got none right now
I live in Portland, and everyone on BlazersEdge seems to think Dame is going to Miami
I hope they’re right
I would keep an eye on the Blazers. If they trade their pick for a vet an re-sign their free agents, that means Dame is staying. But if they are quiet on draft night and quiet at the start of free agency, I would bet Dame starts next season in Miami

CP3 with his contract no way unless turtle in deal
Yes, absolutely, Lowry would be the one going in that trade.
Thats actually a good news.
I remember Wall- Beal duo at the top of their game. Good players, true, but never win anything.
Wall is done, and Beal nothing special any more. Solid player, but not worth 50 mill a year.
suns gotta be fav to win it all.there big 3 almost as good as ours.
Plus #1 pick Deandre (18ppg, 10rpg) Ayton.
my 2 players who i want are van halen and vucevic.and the van arsdales
how much bradley beal ball has anybody seen in the last few years.prob very little except vs the heat.
I hope this wale hunting season results in more than a turd on a fish hook. Jus sayin.
