Milwaukee became the favorite in the Eastern Conference by trading Jrue to Portland for Dame. Now, after acquiring Jrue from Portland for Brogdon, Boston has become the favorite. If Miami acquires Brogdon from Portland (without giving up Herro), will that make Miami the favorite? Asking for a friend.

Portland dosent want to do business with our heat

Cronin is a whore for draft picks, so you never know. Robinson plus a pick might work.

Expand full comment

No team that has given him a pick is gonna suck enough for it to be a high pick any ways. In the end cause he’s trading brogdon, he traded dame for Robert Williams and Deandre Ayton. He’s still and idiot gm

Lol quite the king makers

Expand full comment

I'm hoping they give Miami a 3% chance of winning the East. I like those odds

And Herro had some thoughts.

"I'm not going to say too much. I know my value," he told reporters. "I'm just excited to hoop. For the teams that didn't want me, that's on you. And the teams that do want me, you'll see why you want me."

When he was asked if he was excited to face the Blazers this season, Herro threw shade. "I'm ready to play the best. Portland ain't the best so I'm not worried about Portland."

I'm excited to see Tyler this season

Herro whispering: thank you Joe Cronin for not making the deal happen.

Jimmy's hair is the center of attention on media day 😆😄

...not the off season drama! Love it!! Lol

Expand full comment

Lowry didn't speak to the media. So everyone guessing it was Herro that was going to take the rumors the wrong way but maybe it's Lowry lol

Jimmy firing shots at Dame and Giannis.

So we missed out all the players that was linked to us ...

It always happens to our heat , so harden wants to be traded.. .............😭😭😭

Expand full comment

Harden wouldn't last ten minutes in Miami

Expand full comment

You mean training camp. Coz he lasted 6 hrs in another Miami "facility" with poles ive heard 🤔😳😂

Expand full comment

No Harden please, unless it’s for Lowry, Duncan, and no picks. 😀

Add Embiid, and its a deal.

Expand full comment

jimmy needs a ring pat do something or else he aint gonna be a happy camper

Expand full comment

Jimmy never won shit until Pat Riley and his handful of rings helped him find playoff success

Expand full comment

Well then Jimmy better get out there and start recruiting folks to play in Miami. He has $147M+ coming the next 3 seasons, how unhappy can he be? If he doesn't like it, he's free to ask for a trade. I'm sure there are teams out there that would pay dearly to get him. Other than that, time for JImmy and rest of the team to get serious about playing basketball.

When did you start representing Jimmy?

He's talking to you h4l.

I honestly don't care if holiday on the celtics, and I don't think they got better, sure they got a real pg now, but now there depth and bench is lackluster. Also for there center position they have to rely on injury prone porzingas, also old man horford.. whose older the the mazzula. BAM is gonna destroy them in the paint because there best big man, rim protector timelord isn't there anymore lol . Screw the Portland fans and organization. Everyone down on us again, and think we've gotten weaker, but miami heat will just prove them wrong again like always !

While Portland is wallowing in the middle of another rebuilding year in a long term rebuilding "process" the Heat will be developing those young studs Portland could have had (Herro, Jaquez and Jovic) and preparing for another long run in the playoffs. Unlike Miami, Portland instructed Lillard to lie about a phoney injury so they could tank the last 10 games of the season to get a higher draft pick. The NBA is allegedly investigating and may penalize them. If Dallas was fined $750,000 for tanking one game, Portland may be penalized their 2024 lottery pick for tanking 10. To be continued...

Expand full comment

Dallas tanked for 3/4 of the game. Luka played 1st qt.

Expand full comment

Yeah, it seems Portland fans are so happy that Miami didnt get Lillard and JRue, that not the best return of those trades is not important.

Expand full comment

Hey when Portland is your favorite team and you have nothing else to celebrate why not celebrate sticking it to a franchise infinitely better than yours. It’s their championship

Expand full comment

makes sense. Poor bastards.

Expand full comment

This team still needs playmaking and scoring, thats why it kinda stings that we didnt get either Dame(can provide scoring) or Jrue (playmaking). Anyway, i hope Lowry can be healthy, as hes the only true pg we have. Is Goran still available?

Expand full comment

Look on blazers edge some are now are ok with herro for brogdon lmfao

Expand full comment

So they can flip him for picks. No thanks. How about Duncan and Hampton?

Expand full comment

That was a really fun playoff run. Yeah sucks we didn't win, but it was a fun journey to watch the team embark on.

I'm gonna miss that group of guys.

Expand full comment

It's basically still the same group. This team lost 2 g-league guys on minimum contracts, otherwise it's the same team that finished first in the East and made it to Game-7 of the ECF two years ago, and then made it to the NBA Finals last year. I haven't seen this level of irrational pessimism since they lost PJ Tucker last year. Or Jae Crowder two years before that.

Expand full comment

It's not the players I'm nostalgic for it's the people, and the people who made the group.

Something about watching Jimmy get so hyped for Gabe, Max, Duncan and Martin. And knowing Bam always had their back.

Expand full comment

the players are people?

Expand full comment

You missed my point. It was that particular grouping of gentlemen, their stories, how they played together. How resolute they were in attempting to achieve their goals. The evident respect they had for each other. The history they had playing together the prior couple seasons. And yes, the unlikely heroes.

Just saying runs like that don't come around often. Teams that come together in that way don't. I'm gonna miss that group, as a group.

When life gives you lemons...make lemonade.

It will be interesting to see what Riley does next. He has until the trade deadline to see what talent he already has in-house. Meanwhile, he should let the dust settle before making a move...unless a team makes him an offer he can't refuse.

To start the season Miami has plenty of depth. The initial issue will be playing time for our younger players. Hopefully, the five preseason games from October 10-20 against the Hornets, Spurs, Grizzlies, Nets and Rockets will give Riley/Spo a chance to see what they have, what they need and who is possibly expendable/tradeable. These players/positions are not written in stone.

PG: Herro, Lowry, Smith

SG: Richardson, DRobinson, Jaquez

SF: Butler, Martin, Cain

PF: Love, Highsmith, Jovic

C: Adebayo, ORobinson, Bryant

Note: The second game of the season is against the "new & improved" Boston Celtics on October 27th and the fourth game is against the "new & improved" Milwaukee Bucks on October 30th.

GO HEAT!!!

u forgot hampton at pg hes got similar build as jrue

Expand full comment

Jrue weighs 205 lbs. Hampton weighs 175 lbs. He is probably a good candidate for a rotation player for Sioux Falls until he adds 30 pounds, improves his assists and rebounds and learns to play defense. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4590530/rj-hampton

Expand full comment

Agree the move is to start the season and let things play out. It sounds like they tried to use Lowry's expiring deal, which will come in handy around the trade deadline.

Expand full comment

When we can’t get dame or Jrue, we go for Ellington.

Expand full comment

JRue to Boston.

Well, this will be interesting.

Expand full comment

Huh? Interesting is right.

I don't really see how Boston got better. It was their 4 out lineups with Robert Williams that I thought we struggled against most in the ECF. But then again they don't pay me to coach, hmm.

Expand full comment

Basically they replace Smart with JRue and Grant with Porcingis.

With Williams and Grant gone, they are thiner in frontcourt.

You are probably right, they are not better or at least not much better then last year.

Expand full comment

That is the reason Mia struggled smart grant and Robert will be missed by them.

Expand full comment

And Jimmy cooked Jrue in the playoffs. If Jrue was on the Heat he would be fine :P

What a sports year in SoFla! Marlins in the playoffs!?!? First time in 20 years! And don’t bother saying they have no chance. If you can’t feel the joy of this unlikely finish to the wild card, you need a, yes, reality check. 😀

Last time the Marlins were in the playoffs, I got to serve ice cream to Jeff Conine in the middle of the World Series.

Baked Alaska?

Yes, sir. That Marlins team is tough. Amazing they were able to make it considering how many starters have gone down. It's been fun to watch

Reggie Bullock getting bought out. Possible vet bench wing option at the minimum for insurance. Shot 38% from 3 last season.

Expand full comment

He is a defender and shooter, nothing more. No playmaking.

And he make threes after new year only.

Dunc is maestro of basketball skills for him.

We have better player of his kind, and thats Richardson.

Expand full comment

This is a great addition. There probably aren't many players that were better at preparing to play even though they may not end up being sent out on the court. He was always ready. I hope he's able to pass on that knowledge, especially to the younger players like Jovic, Jacquez, Robinson, Cain and even Hampton, who I think gets converted to a standard.
