Bam is definitely one of my favorites on this heat team. He gives you everything, whether it be defending 1-5 , rebounding, scoring, passing, hustle and effort plays. Also Dho ,screens, pNr, and accountability among other things. He also puts in the work, which is why he gets better each and every year. I think he still has more potential to grow offensively and defensively, and it's crazy that he doesn't even have Dpy yet, but gobert, and smart have one before him. Also he is top 5 in almost every defensive metric that has to do with different schemes like blitzing, drop coverage, on ball, off ball, switching, and zone just to name some examples. Bam is already a great player, but just imagine if he adds a 3 point shot Ala bosh within 2 to 3 years....sky's the limit.
Excellent analysis. It’s been an extraordinary run. Even clearly pointed out the fallacy that Bam doesn’t play with desire or doesn’t try hard. And that Duncan has become a bit of an X factor.
"Adebayo is always excellent on the defensive end on the floor..........". This is what the Knicks fans do not realize. He was so effective in defense against the Knicks, to vent their anger and frustration they label him " a dirty player ". Seems like a familiar phrase to use on any player you do not like. Adebayo being called a dirty player is exceedingly laughable to any Heat fan, who some think does not play tough enough on a consistent basis.
The problem with NY fans is that their passion or emotions overtake their knowledge of the game aka Stephen A Smith, I know because I once lived in NY. Most people call it being a "die hard fan". The danger is that sometimes, you overlook the facts to feed your passion and that is where they get short changed. They end up being the most disappointed fans and have problems dealing with losses. The same process repeats itself again. Watch 2024 !
I wrote on the Knicks blog that they should be pleased with their team. For the first time in years, they are relevant. And they have a solid nucleus of young players plus multiple draft picks. With that and Brunson as their centerpiece, their future is bright, kind of like how I felt when Wade got here in 03.
That is a wise advice you gave. I hope they take it to heart or shall I say to head since they claim to be so knowledgeable. I am not so nice. I will be blunt and get thrown off from their blog, so I stay away.
I just want to throw some math at some folks for a second.
30 teams in the league. Four teams get to the conference finals every year. That means that an "average" NBA team makes the conference finals about once every 7.5 years. So, in his 15 years as head coach of this organization, statistically speaking Erik Spoelstra should have coached in the conference finals twice.
He'll now do it for his seventh time.
And even if you say "the Lebron years don't count," and start counting with the 2015 playoffs, that's 9 years so you'd expect one ECF appearance, and maybe a second isn't out of the question.
But now he's done it three times.
And if you want to talk about Jimmy Butler? Four playoffs in a Heat jersey, three Conference Finals. Heat Jimmy is nearly *six times* more likely to make the conference finals than your average NBA player.
Great stuff Emily. This may be Spo's greatest accomplishment. It took some major coaching expertise to get every drop of talent out of this team. We will find out just how far that talent can take us next round, but, whatever happens, Spo will give us our best chance.
When a Heat player signs somewhere else, rarely play at the same level as with Heat. Im not sure if its a Heat culture or good coach or both to squeese everything from players in Miami, but its like that. Our G league squad of Strus, Martin, Robinsons, Highsmith, Vincent would follow path of Richardson, Whiteside, Nunn, Okpala, Mcgreatness, airmode in other teams.... in and out of the league, siting at the end of the bench, playing small roles..
Remember DWade played in 2 other teams. His second team after the Heat was Chicago. There he described Butler as a "culture guy". Eventually JB found his way here...so we can somehow reason out that it's a combo of culture Riles built here and trust from the coach.
I have a different take on it. Veterans who come from other teams to Heat, seem to drop off in Heat's uniform. Conversely, "original" Heat players who go on to other teams, seem to end up on the bench. It's a mystery I am yet to unravel.
Bam has leveled up his play since Heat Culture developed him. But still a lot of possibilities that can be added in his offensive moves and a little twitching, adjustment in his defense since he gets called for illegal screens a lot lately. I see him continually making an impact the next 5 years on both ends of the floor. as for now rest and recover. you need it. they all do. one more series grind. Go Heat!
Gee could it be our favorite 50 year sports fan that always draws a negative spin on things.I guess that he is a guy that has no life to speak of.Feel bad for him.fellow bloggers.
Our team has done it again. As we all know this season has been a mish mosh of injuries that especially hurt the development of our young bigs. The acquisition of Kevin love was brilliant and Cody Zeller plays hard but hurts us in many ways . Hopefully Mickey will open up his check book and do what it takes to improve our heat.

Interesting take on Miami's recent success.

Bam has come off age, no more the perennial mental breakdown that comes at play off time. Go Bam, Go!
Thank u sir
A big salute to Bam. He played like a man possessed. This version of Bam will give Himmy the help he needs in this run. Please keep it up Bam.
As we have just witnessed, one guy cannot beat a good NBA team in the playoffs. Jalen Brunson sure did try.
Finally, Bam is shaking off the mental breakdown that perennially occur at play off time.

Our team done good, fam.
You see why I like you Alaska Emily, you bring the aspect few people (excluding me, lol!) bring up.

Since he said the plural, ‘punks’, I guess I’m not the only one. I wonder who the others might be ? 😆
Well I'll personally tell you it is a mystery to me.

hfl what have you been up to.
Denigrating the blog exactly the same way he denigrates the team.
Maybe we should trade hfl back to the knicks for Randle, since they don't want him . And we can do without his negativity lol
On NY forum.. guess who wrote that.
